On Golden Lane

On Golden Lane is a registered charity (number 1118006) that was initially set up by a number of local volunteers, workers and residents. The charity works to support the Golden Lane Campus in providing access and benefits to the wider local community by providing educational opportunities to disadvantaged families as well as their children. Our philosophy of education gives priority to valuing the skills that children acquire within their families.

One major project has been to support a Community Development Worker within the Campus. As a result there have been various courses and activities including: Tackling Stress, Working Tax Credit Advice, Community Interpreting, Family Apprentice, Family Kitchen, Indian Head Massage, Bikeability Road Safety and a number of music and craft workshops.

On Golden Lane and the family and community services on the campus are supported by, and provided in partnership with, other agencies including EC1 New Deal, City of London Adult & Community Learning, Islington South Parent Volunteers and the Cripplegate Foundation.
